The report said that the ongoing U.S. blockade is increasing pressure on Iran and could potentially force Tehran to concede without direct military action.

Officials cited by the report said one option under consideration by Trump following his return from China is the resumption of “Operation Freedom” in the Strait of Hormuz.

Another option reportedly being considered is a new bombing campaign focused on Iran’s infrastructure.
