Dr. Dojan explained that the Cabinet’s decision includes a 50% exemption on work permit fees for all previous periods, applicable to employers or violating non-Jordanian workers across various sectors and economic activities, including domestic workers.
He added that the decision also features a 100% exemption from late renewal penalties for employers or non-Jordanian workers when renewing an expired work permit or transferring to a new employer across all economic sectors. Additionally, violating non-Jordanian workers subject to the Residency and Foreigners Affairs Law are granted a 100% exemption from overstay fines, provided they rectify their status during this legalization period.
Furthermore, Dr. Dojan pointed out that violating non-Jordanian workers who wish to leave the Kingdom permanently (final departure) will receive a 100% exemption from all previous work permit fees and penalties accumulated up to their departure date. This also applies to non-Jordanian workers subject to the Residency and Foreigners Affairs Law, including domestic workers, who will be completely exempted from overstay fines upon final departure, provided the worker’s official file is settled.
He noted that the Ministry will issue a deportation order for any violating non-Jordanian worker—including domestic workers—who fails to rectify their status in accordance with the Labor Law and the Residency and Foreigners Affairs Law, effective October 1, 2026.
In conclusion, Dr. Dojan emphasized that the Ministry, in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior and the Public Security Directorate, is currently conducting inspection campaigns to apprehend any non-Jordanian working in violation of the Labor and Residency laws, noting that violators will be deported immediately.
