Water Minister, Matthew Samuda, is hitting back at claims from the Opposition People’s National Party, PNP, that the government is sidelining Members of Parliament as it distributes water to constituencies across the island.

At a media briefing on Monday, MP for North West St Catherine, the PNP’s Damion Crawford, suggested that the government’s decision to “centralise” the distribution of water may be linked to the Opposition’s increased number of MPs.

And recently, Spokesman on Water, Ian Hayles, claimed that communities represented by the opposition are being excluded from the distribution of water projects.

Samuda also rejected that claim.
