Opposition Spokesperson on Finance, Julian Robinson, is questioning whether the government’s sudden ban on official overseas travel is merely a public relations exercise.
Robinson says that the government has not disclosed how much it expects to save from the ban, what exceptions will apply, or why externally sponsored trips, which cost taxpayers nothing, are being blocked at a time when Jamaica needs international partners to support its recovery.
He’s calling on the government to publish the projected savings from this ban.

He’s also calling for a full accounting of expenditure of the National Reconstruction and Resilience Authority, NaRRA.
But, State Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister, Senator Abka Fitz-Henley, is rejecting Robinson’s criticism as shallow and misguided.
