Opposition Spokesman on Science, Technology and Digital Transformation, Christopher Brown, says the cyber-attack on JETS Limited highlights the urgent need for stronger cybersecurity protection.

Brown says this latest incident comes after the government disclosed that more than five million attempts to breach Jamaica’s digital systems were recorded in the first three months of 2026.

Over 49 million attempts were recorded in 2025.

Brown is calling on the government to move swiftly in establishing the Cybersecurity Act.
