Legendary track coach, Stephen Francis, dies at 64

Nationwide News understands that legendary track and field coach and co-Founder of the MVP Track Club, Stephen Francis, has died.

Francis reportedly died some time last night after 10 Jamaica time.

His death has plunged the track and field community into mourning.

Francis had been battling illness.

He was widely regarded as the world’s leading sprint coach.

Stephen Francis died two days after his 64th birthday.

He is highly respected for coaching to greatness a bevy of multiple Olympic and World Championship gold medalists.

Francis is recognised for guiding to stardom Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, Elaine Thompson-Herah, Asafa Powell, Shericka Jackson and Kishane Thompson.
