The Ministry of Agriculture is to truck water to more farmers in parishes affected by the ongoing drought.
Portfolio minister, Floyd Green, gave the update while speaking on Nationwide at Five on Monday.
Soaring temperatures, along with little to no rain, have worsened the impact of the drought across the country.
According to the Met Service, 10 of the 14 parishes experienced below normal rainfall in May and June.
Earlier this year, Minister Green announced a $150 million drought mitigation programme.
He says his team is providing the requisite support in this tough period for farmers.
