The Jamaica Labour Party, JLP, is rejecting what it describes as another deceptive attempt by the PNP to link the government to the Coopers Pen land turmoil.

In a statement on Friday, the PNP suggested that the Housing Ministry has an enforceable caveat lodged against the title to the Coopers Pen property.

But, Chairman of the JLP Communications Task Force, Senator Abka Fitz-Henley, says this is yet another example of the Opposition’s willingness to spread misinformation.

Senator Fitz-Henley emphasises that the government has no legal or factual basis on which to challenge the decision of the courts regarding lands owned by private individuals.
