At the soonest possible time!

That’s the word from Speaker of the House of Representatives, Juliet Holness, when asked by our news centre to state when the Integrity Commission’s annual report will be tabled in the Lower House.

Nationwide News contacted House Speaker Holness on Monday.

She says the document will be tabled in keeping with the parliament’s standing orders and the Integrity Commission Act.

However, Holness would not be drawn on whether the document will be tabled on Tuesday at the next sitting of parliament.

Neither would she comment about why the document was not tabled at last week’s sitting of the lower house.

Both the House Speaker and President of the Senate have been consistent in saying that nothing under the Integrity Commission Act compels them to table any document submitted to the parliament within any timeframe.

Holness has previously said that documents and or reports received for tabling from any commission of parliament will be tabled as soon as is feasible.

She told our news centre that her position does not mean that some documents will not be tabled immediately upon receipt.
