Opposition Leader, Mark Golding, is again expressing dissatisfaction with the government’s Restoration of Owner or Occupant Family Shelters, ROOFS, Programme.
He says the assistance being provided under the programme is not enough to meet the needs of Jamaicans impacted by Hurricane Melissa.
Golding, along with other members of the People’s National Party, toured sections of Westmoreland and Hanover on Wednesday.
The two parishes were among the six which suffered severe damage when the category five hurricane made landfall a year ago.
So far, over 49,000 beneficiaries have received payments under the ROOFS, programme.
More than 11,000 more are to get grants over the next two weeks.
Prime Minister, Dr Andrew Holness, has also announced an additional $11.65 billion allocation to the programme.
Golding says that needs to be fasttracked.
