Cocaine seizures in past 6 months outstrip previous 10 years – FNID

Local narcotics police have seized more cocaine in the last six months than in the previous 10 years.

Director of the Firearms and Narcotics Division, FNID, of the Jamaica Constabulary Force, JCF, Superintendent Patrae Rowe provided the astonishing data on Tuesday.

He was speaking with host George Davis on Nationwide This Morning.

The JCF data comes ahead of the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking to be observed on Friday.

Superintendent Rowe says the value of the illegal drugs seized since January 1, 2026 exceeds $3 billion, more than the amount allocated to several line items in the national budget.
