A dispute between two brothers in St Ann has turned into a tragedy of biblical proportions that has left one man dead and the other nursing wounds at hospital.

Dead is 55-year-old Gladston Hughes from Frankhall district in Cascade, near Cave Valley, St Ann.

Reports from the police are that around 4 pm on Wednesday, Hughes went to his brother’s house with a machete.

The police say he forced himself into his brother’s house and chopped him multiple times.

The brother reportedly armed himself with a knife and inflicted retaliatory stab wounds, which proved fatal.

Hughes was pronounced dead at hospital.

The other brother has reportedly been admitted.
