We have to change how we communicate.
That’s the comment of Cabinet Minister, Matthew Samuda, as he reacted to dancehall artiste, Beenie Man’s recent critique of the government’s post Hurricane Melissa recovery efforts.
Samuda was speaking on “The Fix” podcast, which was uploaded on Friday.
In a recent interview with UK-based ITV News, Beenie Man claimed that the government had misused the donated hurricane relief funds.
His claim was rejected by Prime Minister Dr. Andrew Holness, who said it was misleading.
Samuda says he doesn’t believe Beenie Man was maliciously spreading misinformation.
However, the minister thinks those comments have a potential negative effect on the government’s response to future disasters.
