Seventeen Jamaicans will have the opportunity in just over a week’s time to go for a share of the millions in Wanda Diamond League prize monies when the curtain comes down on the 2026 season in Brussels, September 4-5.

The last Preliminary meet in Zurich on Thursday, helped to fill the remaining spots.

Jonielle Smith finished seventh in the women’s 100m on Thursday, but gained enough to secure a spot in Brussels with Tina Clayton the other Jamaican in the top 8 of the points standings.

Shericka Jackson finished sixth in the the women’s 200m with 16 points, but will not feature in Brussels due to injury.

Megan Simmonds also booked a spot though she didn’t compete in Zurich, she consolidated seventh in the standings.

Another athlete who had to wait until the end of Zurich to book his spot was Jaydon Hibbert who booked the sixth and last spot in the men’s Triple Jump, even though he was absent.

Several other Jamaicans had already sealed spots in the Belgian capital ahead of the Zurich meet, among them Oblique Seville, Nickisha Pryce, Orlando Bennett, Roje Stona, Rajindra Campbell, Tajay Gayle, Wayne Pinnock, Romaine Beckford and Demario Prince.
