Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – Linde Material Handling of Germany has completed a new warehouse technology project in Baghdad with its official Iraqi partner, Al-Ghodwa Group, as modern logistics systems gain traction in Iraq.
The project was completed in early August, and it comprised the installation and commissioning of two Linde Very Narrow Aisle (VNA) trucks built for high-density warehouse operations.
As part of the turnkey project, Al-Ghodwa installed the guiding system, calibrated and tested the equipment, and taught the local operators.
The technology enables firms to store more items in their current warehouse space by running equipment securely in tighter lanes, which increases productivity and reduces space needs.
The project combines Linde’s German warehouse technology with local installation, maintenance, and after-sales services in Iraq.
Linde Material Handling is a subsidiary of Germany’s KION Group, one of the world’s biggest producers of industrial vehicles and a leading supplier of warehouse automation systems.
The Baghdad installation comes as Iraq’s logistics and distribution industry grows, amid investment in manufacturing, retail, transportation, and private-sector growth.
