Bogor, IO – The Indonesian Volleyball Association (PBVSI) released the Indonesian women’s national volleyball team, which will compete in the upcoming SEA V Cup 2026 at the General Police Kunarto Volleyball Padepokan, Sentul, on Sunday (July 19). PBVSI Chairman Imam Sudjarwo led the send-off of the squad coached by Marcos Sugiyama, aiming to achieve maximum results in this major Southeast Asian volleyball event.
“We have set a target for the Indonesian women’s national volleyball team in the 2026 SEA V Cup to be runners-up. We are optimistic that they can finish second, considering that nothing is impossible in sports,” said Imam.
PBVSI believes that Tisya Amallia and her colleagues have much to offer in the 2026 SEA V Cup after their outstanding performance at the AVC Women’s Volleyball Cup 2026. Srikandi Merah Putih finished fifth after defeating Australia 3-0 (25-13, 25-19, 26-24).
In that event, the bronze medalists at the 2025 SEA Games even gave Vietnam a tough time before ultimately succumbing to a 2-3 loss (25-18, 22-25, 18-25, 25-19, 13-15). Based on this result, the Indonesian Volleyball Association (PBVSI) believes Srikandi Merah Putih can compete with Vietnam for the runner-up spot, outside of Thailand, who will be playing at their best, as they did in the Volleyball Nations League (VNL).
“We hope the success of the men’s national volleyball team at the 2026 AVC Cup will also be contagious to the women’s national volleyball team. I hope they have a strong fighting spirit and never give up in every match,” said Imam.
The Indonesian women’s national volleyball team coach, Marcos Sugiyama, is also confident in the current lineup. Moreover, the players who were called up already understand each other, so it won’t take time to re-establish a sense of camaraderie.
“I told the players to be confident in facing the 2026 SEA V Cup. After competing in the 2026 AVC Women’s Volleyball Cup, I think they understand each other much better, so we won’t need time to adapt,” said the Japanese tactician.
Echoing Marcos, the captain of the Indonesian women’s national volleyball team, Tisya Amallya Putri, is also confident in the target set by the Indonesian Volleyball Association (PBVSI). The player, born on October 11, 2000, believes her teammates must play without pressure in every match to achieve the best results.

“We can’t play under pressure. I told my teammates to enjoy themselves so they can play their best. With the preparation we have, we’re trying to compete for the best results,” said the top setter in the 2025 Proliga.
The Indonesian women’s national volleyball team is scheduled to play a friendly match in Korea tonight against the Korean national team. The trials are scheduled for Thursday (July 23), Saturday (July 25), and Sunday (July 26).
Afterward, the players will fly directly to Hanoi, Vietnam, to compete in the first round of the 2026 SEA V Cup, which will run from Friday (July 31) to Sunday (August 2). The second round is scheduled to take place in Thailand from Friday (August 7) to Sunday (August 9). The 2026 SEA V Cup will serve as a warm-up for the upcoming tournament in Tianjin, China, from August 21 to 30.
