Jakarta, IO – Indonesia’s badminton team heading to the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games will hold a training camp in Tokyo from September 13 to 17, following a recommendation and with support from the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora).
The team will travel to Japan earlier than scheduled, departing on Saturday, September 12. The early arrival is intended to give the players more time to adjust to conditions in Japan, including the time difference, surroundings, and daily routines before the training camp begins.
The Tokyo training camp is an important part of the team’s final preparations for the Asian Games. The focus will be on fine-tuning technical and tactical aspects, maintaining physical fitness, managing training and recovery, and building mental readiness and team cohesion. All the players are expected to make the most of this period to sharpen their preparations and reach peak condition when competition gets underway in Aichi-Nagoya.

In addition to the main squad, the team will bring several sparring partners and the full lineup of assistant coaches. Their presence will support the training needs of each sector, allowing the planned program to run effectively and meet the players’ specific requirements.
“This training camp is an important foundation before the team enters the Asian Games arena. We hope the players can go through the entire process with focus, in a positive environment, and with growing confidence,” said Eng Hian, Head of the PBSI Performance Development Division.
“When the time comes to compete, we hope they can play freely, support one another as a team, fight for every point, and give their very best for the Red and White,” he added.
