The doors of Lord Tungnath will open on April 22nd this year. On Tuesday, the auspicious occasion of Vaisakhi, the opening date was announced in the presence of Lord Tungnath’s priest, Vijay Bharat Maithani, and the temple committee and the villagers.
On April 20th, the Lord’s movable idol doli will depart from Makku, the winter seat, and after performing the ritual at a place called Pundahi, will rest overnight at the Bhootnath Temple. On April 21st, the movable procession will depart from the Bhootnath Temple at around 11 am and reach its second stop, Chopta, for the night.
On April 22nd, it will depart from Chopta at 8 am for its summer seat, Tungnath Dham. After reaching Tungnath Dham at 11 am, the doors will be opened for the general public at 11 am.
The doors of Madhyamaheshwar will open on May 21st
On the occasion of Baisakhi, the date for the opening of the doors of the second Kedar, Lord Madhyamaheshwar, at the Omkareshwar Temple in Ukhimath, the seat of the Panch Kedar, has been announced. For this pilgrimage season, the doors of the second Kedar, Lord Madhyamaheshwar Dham, will be opened for devotees on May 21st. Meanwhile, the doors of Someshwar Maharaj, the presiding deity of 12 villages of the Geeth Patti, located in Kharsali village, the winter residence of Godess Yamuna, have been opened for devotees to visit with rituals and special prayers.
