Prayagraj: Amid tight security bandobast, the NEET (UG) re-exam was held at 47 exam centres in the Sangam City on Sunday, with senior police and administrative officials remaining mobile throughout the day.The exam was conducted from 2 pm to 5:15 pm following NTA’s decision to extend the duration to 195 minutes. After the exam, majority of aspirants said Physics was tough, followed by Chemistry and Biology.Apart from maintaining strict surveillance, static magistrates were assigned key duties at all 47 exam centres. District magistrate Manish Kumar Verma inspected the exam centres one after one.He said said “ Elaborate security arrangements were in place at all the centres and the NEET (UG) re-exam passed of peacefully.”Candidates were writing the paper under strict security arrangements, including AI-enabled CCTV surveillance. Centre authorities closely monitored centres to ensure the smooth and fair conduct of the examination.Earlier, district police and administrative officials inspected the examination halls, control room, and surveillance systems to ensure there would be no scope for irregularities or technical glitches during the exam. The administration was exercising extra vigilance regarding the examination this time. The candidates were to undergo biometric verification and every activity — from entering the exam center to submitting the answer sheet—was monitored by CCTV cameras.
