The Indian Meteorological Department has stated that isolated heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is likely in Sikkim. Heavy rain is also expected in Arunachal Pradesh on April 14, 15, and 18. Thunderstorms and rain are also expected in Assam and Meghalaya on April 17 and 18. The IMD has issued a rain alert for four states. A yellow alert has been issued for strong winds in Uttar Pradesh. The weather bulletin stated that a new western disturbance is becoming active from April 15, which could impact several states.
The IMD stated that isolated heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is likely in Sikkim today, in Arunachal Pradesh on April 14, 15, and 18, and in Assam and Meghalaya on April 17 and 18. Maximum temperatures are expected to gradually increase by 3-6 degrees Celsius over northwest, central, and eastern India over the next 4-5 days. Consequently, maximum temperatures are expected to be above normal in these regions after two days.

- Maximum temperatures in northwest India are expected to increase by 4-6 degrees between April 12 and 18.
- Maximum temperatures in Madhya Pradesh are expected to increase by 3-5 degrees. Temperatures in Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh are expected to increase by 2-3 degrees Celsius by April 15. However, no change in maximum temperatures is expected in central India between April 16 and 18.
- Maximum temperatures in eastern India are also expected to increase by 3-5 degrees by April 16. There will also be no significant change in temperatures on April 17 and 18.

Temperatures in Delhi may exceed 40 degrees Celsius
The India Meteorological Department has predicted further increases in Delhi’s temperatures in the coming days. The minimum temperature is expected to hover around 20-22 degrees Celsius by Tuesday, while the maximum temperature is expected to reach 38-40 degrees Celsius by Wednesday. Dry weather is also expected in Uttar Pradesh for the next week, with maximum temperatures likely to exceed 40 degrees Celsius in several districts, including the capital Lucknow. The Meteorological Department stated that due to the absence of any active weather system in the state, the weather will remain dry, and temperatures will gradually increase by four to six degrees Celsius.
