Orange Alert for Rain in Uttarakhand for April 7 and 8

On Monday afternoon, the weather in Chamoli took a sudden turn. Along with rain, snowfall began in the higher-altitude regions. Fresh snowfall has been recorded at Badrinath Dham, Hemkund Sahib, and Auli. The combination of snowfall and rain has brought a significant drop in temperature across the entire region, providing a welcome respite for the local residents. Amidst this changing weather, the scenery of the mountains has become breathtakingly beautiful—as if nature itself has bestowed a fresh gift upon the hills this year.

Heat in the Plains, Cold in the Mountains

While temperatures are rising across the plains—stretching from the north to the south—Uttarakhand is experiencing rainfall during the month of April. The Meteorological Department has forecast rain in Uttarakhand until Sunday, April 12. Widespread rainfall is expected across the entire state on Tuesday, April 7, and Wednesday, April 8; consequently, an ‘Orange Alert’ has been issued for these two days.
