Major Impact of Delhi-DehradunEconomic Corridor, Bus Fares Cut by Up to 25%

Good news has emerged for travelers commuting between Dehradun and Delhi. With the opening of the newly constructed Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor, not only has travel speed increased, but the financial burden on your pocket has also been significantly reduced. The Uttarakhand Transport Corporation (UTC) has announced a substantial reduction in fares for buses traveling via the recently inaugurated corridor bringing smiles to the faces of passengers.

Prateek Jain, Assistant General Manager (AGM) of the Uttarakhand Transport Corporation, announced that fares for buses operating along the expressway route have been reduced by up to 25%. The primary objective of this initiative is to provide passengers with accessible, affordable, and superior transport services.

New Fare Rates

Uttarakhand Roadways has revised the fares for all categories of its buses. The new rates are as follows:

Volvo: The fare for luxury Volvo buses, which previously stood at ₹945, has now dropped to ₹709. This translates to a direct saving of ₹236 on a one-way journey.
AC Bus: The fare for AC buses has been reduced from ₹704 to ₹507.
Ordinary Bus: The fare for the ‘Ordinary’ bus—a favorite among the general public—has dropped from ₹430 to ₹355.

Journey Now Completed in Under 3 Hours

In addition to the fare reduction, passengers will now also save valuable time. AGM Prateek Jain stated that, according to surveys conducted using Volvo buses and smaller vehicles, the journey from Dehradun ISBT to Delhi ISBT is now being completed in just 2 hours and 55 minutes. Previously, covering this same distance used to take between 5 to 6 hours.
