Former Uttarakhand Chief Minister B.C Khanduri Passes Away

Former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Bhuwan Chandra Khanduri, has passed away. He had been admitted to Max Hospital in Dehradun for quite some time due to ill health. His daughter, Ritu Bhushan Khanduri—the Speaker of the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly and his son BJP leader Manish Khanduri has confirmed her father’s demise. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has expressed his condolences on the passing of the former Chief Minister.

He had been undergoing treatment at the Max Super Speciality Hospital in Dehradun for approximately the past month. It is reported that Khanduri had been battling heart-related ailments. He passed away at the age of 91. He retired from the Indian Army holding the rank of Major General and served the state as the fourth Chief Minister of Uttarakhand. He served as the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand on two separate occasions. Prior to this, he had also served as a Union Minister. Following his retirement from the Indian Army, he pursued a political career spanning 30 years. His passing has sent a wave of grief across the state.
