The Andhra Pradesh State Cabinet meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu in Amaravati, approved over 30 key agenda items. Prominent among these were multi-village drinking water schemes; the Cabinet sanctioned 10 major multi-village drinking water projects for villages at a cost of ₹9,355 crore. Approvals were also granted for 2,943 drinking water schemes, costing ₹1,811 crore, to serve water-scarce areas. Additionally, the Cabinet approved the modernization of the Peddagedda reservoir command area, as well as works related to feeder channels in Kuppam and the Beeraganipalle reservoir.
Regarding land pooling decisions, it was decided to waive agricultural loans of up to ₹1.5 lakh for farmers across seven villages who are contributing land under the second phase in Amaravati; this waiver applies only to loans taken before January 6, 2026. A proposal to increase the annual lease amount—by ₹3,000 for dry lands and ₹5,000 for wet (Jaribu) lands—for farmers who have contributed or will contribute land was approved. Consequently, the total lease amount will rise to ₹40,000 for dry land farmers and ₹60,000 for wet land farmers. Approval was also granted to pay ₹159 crore in compensation to the Endowments Department for 307 acres of Inam land falling under the second phase of land pooling. Land allocations will be made to organizations approved by the CRDA, for the NFDB’s large aquarium-cum-office complex, as well as to the Isha Foundation, Art of Living, and the CII Global Leadership Center.
Special incentives have been approved for the ITC Hotel in Nellore, Madhavi Hotel in Kadapa, and Sarovar Portico Hotel in Vijayawada. Approval was also granted for setting up an integrated amusement park in Kadapa. As part of the new tourism policy, a special framework has been proposed for hosting large-scale concerts (musical and cultural performances) in the state. An allocation of ₹50 crore has been made for tourism promotion. It was decided to provide incentives for major investments in the state, based on the recommendations of the SIPB. Discussions were held regarding the establishment of a logistics park spanning 63 acres in Tirupati district.
Approval was granted for setting up ‘Ambedkar Gurukula COEs’ (Centres of Excellence) in Visakhapatnam, Guntur, and Nellore districts. The Cabinet approved proposals to provide residential coaching to students for IIT JEE and NEET examinations. Approval was also given for the establishment of a National Investigation Agency (NIA) special court in Visakhapatnam.
