In June 2026, construction output volume, based on raw data, was 1.2% lower than a year earlier. Based on working-day adjusted data, it lessened by 5.0%. Among the main construction groups, output in the construction of buildings decreased by 5.5%, while that of civil engineering grew by 5.6%. Based on seasonally and working-day adjusted indices, construction output was 3.9% lower than in May 2026. Construction producer prices increased by 5.3% in the 2nd quarter of 2026 compared to the same period of the previous year.
In June 2026 compared to the same month of the previous year output in the two main groups of construction changed oppositely: output in the construction of buildings decreased by 5.5%, while that of civil engineering increased by 5.6%
Among the divisions of construction, output in the construction of buildings fell by 22.1%, while output in civil engineering was 28.3% higher than a year earlier. Output in specialised construction activities, having the largest weight within construction, increased by 0.6%. The increase in civil engineering was mainly generated by a 49.6% growh in the volume of the group road, railways construction, contributing almost 33 percentage points to the performance of the division.
The volume of new contracts concluded lagged behind the one year earlier level by 41.9%; within this, the volume of contracts for the construction of buildings decreased by 16.8%, and that for civil engineering works fell by 58.6%.
The volume of the end-of-June stock of contracts at construction enterprises was 0.4% lower than in June 2025. Within this, the volume of contracts for the construction of buildings went down by 1.5%, and grew by 0.1% for civil engineering works.
In the first six months of 2026 construction output volume was 0.7% lower than a year earlier.
Construction Producer Prices:
Within the divisions of construction, prices increased most (by 5.8%) in specialised construction activities, which carry the greatest weight, while prices rose by 5.1% in civil engineering and by 4.5% in the construction of buildings in the 2nd quarter of 2026, compared to the 2nd quarter of 2025.
Construction prices were on average 1.9% higher than in the 1st quarter of 2026.
