VAT-Free lists and new dates for October VAT-Free Shopping Days

The Ministry of Finance advises that the VAT-Free Shopping Days under the Cost of Living Assistance Programme 2026 have been rescheduled: 2-3 October 2026 are the NEW DATES.

Some things in Grenada are always VAT-free — no special day needed.

Already 0% VAT on the following items:

Bread (unsweetened)

A supply of chicken: back, neck, drumettes and wings, fresh, chilled or frozen as may be specified in regulations

Medicines for chronic diseases (diabetes, cardiovascular disease/hypertension, renal failure, glaucoma, cancer, asthma)

Agricultural inputs

  • Animal feed other than food for domesticated animals generally held as pets
  • Beekeeping suppliers
  • Bees for breeding
  • Cardboard boxes/cartons and packaging film specially designed for use in transporting unprocessed agricultural products
  • Egg trays/boxes
  • Eggs for hatching
  • Extraction materials
  • Fertilisers
  • Herbicides
  • Hive components
  • Killing cones
  • Pesticides for agricultural purposes only
  • Poultry feeders, waterers, nipples

  • Fuel (gasoline, diesel, cooking gas, kerosene)
  • Goods imported by returning Grenadian nationals who are assigned by the government to a regional or international organisation to which Grenada is a member
  • Infant preparation (milk-based)
  • Micro-computers and accessories specified in regulations
  • Milk (fresh milk, condensed, powder, evaporated)
  • Pipe-borne water supplied by Nawasa for residential purposes
  • Postage stamps
  • The payment known as service charge to hotels, guest houses and restaurants
  • Vacant and agricultural lands
  • Wheat flour

Effective 6 April 2016

“Item 6. a supply of building materials for a qualifying investment under the Investment Act, 2014 or any regulations, where — (a) the qualifying costs exceed $30 million; (b) the purchaser is a registered person; (c) the supplier is a registered person; (d) the priority sector facility will be used for the purposes of a taxable activity.”

Effective 1 April 2023

A supply or import of production equipment for business use in the creative economy as approved by the minister with responsibility for the creative economy.

Effective 6 April 2016

A supply or import of electric vehicles and a supply or import of electric vehicle charging stations.
