The Grenada Chamber of Industry and Commerce (GCIC) proudly announces the successful conclusion of the 2026 GCIC Inter-Sector Football Tournament, which culminated on Friday, 18 September 2026 at the Morne Rouge Playing Field following nearly 10 weeks of exciting football competition.
The tournament commenced on 1 July 2026 at the Woburn Playing Field and brought together teams from across Grenada’s public and private sectors in a celebration of sportsmanship, teamwork, wellness, and camaraderie.
There was intense competition across 4 preliminary zones, with winners being:
- Zone A: Acado Grenada
- Zone B: MBIA
- Zone C: Sandals Grenada Beach Resort & Spa
- Zone D: Geo. F Huggins & Co. Ltd.
These teams distinguished themselves during the group stages, setting the tone for an exciting knockout competition that culminated in a memorable finals night at the Morne Rouge Playing Field where Sandals Grenada Beach Resort & Spa emerged as the 2026 GCIC Inter-Sector Football Champions.
The final standings were as follows:
- Champions: Sandals Grenada Beach Resort & Spa
- Second Place: Acado Grenada
- Third Place: Grenada Seamen and Waterfront Workers Union (GSWWU)
The tournament provided a valuable opportunity for employees and organisations from various sectors to engage in healthy competition, strengthen workplace relationships, promote physical activity, and foster greater collaboration within the business community.
The climax of the tournament was celebrated with a Closing and Awards Ceremony attended by players, team representatives, sponsors, supporters, and invited guests. Trophies, medals, and prizes were presented to the winning teams and individual award recipients in recognition of their achievements and contributions to the success of the competition.
The GCIC extends its heartfelt congratulations to Sandals Grenada Beach Resort & Spa on securing the championship title and commends Acado, Grenada Seamen and Waterfront Workers Union, and all participating teams for their dedication, commitment, and sportsmanship throughout the tournament.
The chamber also expresses its sincere appreciation to its partners, contributors, match officials, volunteers, organising committee members, and supporters whose contributions were instrumental in making the tournament a resounding success.
