Traffic arrangements: Carnival launch at National Cricket Stadium

The Traffic Department of the Royal Grenada Police Force (RGPF) informs the general public of the following traffic arrangements to facilitate the launch of Carnival on Saturday, 2 May 2026, commencing 12 noon to 12 am at the National Cricket Stadium.

These traffic arrangements will be in effect from 11 am until the conclusion of the event.

All vehicular traffic entering the National Stadium will use the Queen’s Park Ring Road from its intersection with Cherry Hill or Mt Rush, and also, the Hump Back Bridge, where it joins the River Road public road.

No entry

  • No vehicular traffic will be allowed to enter the Stadium compound from Mt Gay direction
  • Vehicular traffic will not be allowed to enter the Ring Road from its junction with Mt Rush Public Road to the direction of the Hump Back Bridge

No parking

  • From Keep Left sign to Cherry Hill, which includes Queen’s Park public road
  • Cemetery Hill intersection with River Road to Purcell lumber yard
  • Left side of the Stadium Ring Road towards Darbeau direction
  • Mt Rush public road from its intersection with Stadium Ring Road to the beginning of the hill
  • Melville Street Fish Market to Keep Left sign

VIP Parking

  • VIP Parking will be in the concrete area in front of the Kirani James Athletic Stadium

Public parking

  • Wesley College ground (general public)
  • Concrete area in front of Kirani James Athletic Stadium
  • Performers, officials, sponsors and specially invited guests will be allowed to park at Gate 6

One-way

At the conclusion of the launch, vehicles will only be allowed to travel in one direction from Stadium Ring Road, where it intersects with Mt Rush public road, to the direction of the Hump Back Bridge.

Emergency route

All emergency vehicles will travel along Cemetery Hill, Church Street, Grand Etang Road onto the General Hospital.
