Current Under-16 National Chess Champion Jaedyn Pierre and National Junior Player Aiden Victor — two of our top Junior Chess players — each secured passes in 12 (out of 12) subjects in the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) examinations following the release of results by CXC on Tuesday, 19 August.

They are students of the Grenada Boys Secondary School (GBSS) and the Presentation Brothers College (PBC), respectively. Both were part of the 5-member team representing Grenada at the FIDE World Under-16 Chess Olympiad in Colombia, 16–23 August, 2025.

Both also represented Grenada at the 3rd Chatoyer Bilateral Chess Championship, 13–16 March 2026, in Kingstown, St Vincent.  Both are members of the chess clubs at their respective schools.

In August 2025, Pierre became the youngest and first home-grown Grenadian Junior player to receive a rating (1691) from FIDE. He is one of the 5 male players selected to represent Grenada at the 46th FIDE Chess Olympiad taking place in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, from 15–28 September, 2026.

Chess is well known for increasing attention span, improving concentration, enhancing critical thinking, and slowing down memory loss. Overall, it positively impacts discipline.

The Grenada Chess Federation extends its heartiest congratulations to Jaedyn Pierre and Aiden Victor on their recent CSEC successes and wishes them every success in the next stage of their academic journey.
