Members of the Queen Victoria School Old Boys Association (QVSOB) gathered at the State House to pay their respects to the late former President, Ratu Epeli Nailatikau.
During the tribute, representatives reflected on his early academic journey, which began at Bau District School, Draiba Fijian School, and Levuka Public School before continuing at Queen Victoria School. In 1961, he was appointed Head Boy, marking the beginning of a leadership path that would later see him serve the nation at the highest level.
Speakers acknowledged his lasting impact on the school community, noting that his achievements were a source of pride. Gratitude was also extended to the Vanua o Kubuna for nurturing a leader whose influence extended beyond the classroom into national service.
The delegation further recognised the deep cultural and chiefly heritage of the Vanua o Kubuna, highlighting its longstanding role in shaping individuals who go on to contribute significantly to the country.
