NGWEMPISI– Young people in Ngwempisi Inkhundla are set to gain valuable entrepreneurship and business development skills through a capacity-building workshop aimed at empowering them with practical tools for economic growth and personal advancement.
The workshop, scheduled for Friday, July 17, 2026, is organised by the Eswatini National Youth Council (ENYC) in collaboration with the Ngwempisi Inkhundla Council and the Ngwempisi Youth Committee.
The initiative seeks to equip young people with the knowledge and confidence needed to develop sustainable businesses, write effective business plans and adopt a mindset that encourages innovation, resilience and self-reliance.
Through the workshop, participants will be exposed to key entrepreneurship principles that can help them identify opportunities, transform ideas into viable ventures and contribute towards job creation and economic development within their communities.
The programme will place strong emphasis on mindset change and business plan writing skills, which organisers believe are essential in preparing young people to successfully navigate the entrepreneurial space and access available opportunities.
Beyond economic empowerment, the workshop will also feature a dedicated session on Gender-Based Violence (GBV). The session will focus on raising awareness, promoting prevention and encouraging youth to play an active role in building safer and more respectful communities.
The workshop is supported by the Youth Enterprise Revolving Fund (YERF) and HealthPlus 4 Men, partners who continue to contribute towards initiatives that promote youth empowerment and social development.
Ngwempisi Youth Committee Chairperson Ellis Bekithemba “Lovutha” Dlamini has encouraged young people to attend the workshop in their numbers, saying the event presents an important opportunity for them to gain knowledge and skills that can shape their future.
Dlamini said the workshop would provide a platform for youth to learn, engage with others and acquire practical skills that can assist them in starting and growing businesses.
“We encourage all young people to attend in their numbers and take advantage of this opportunity. The knowledge and skills they will gain can help them make informed decisions and build a better future for themselves and their communities,” said Dlamini.
He added that youth empowerment remains critical in creating a generation of innovative, responsible and economically active young people.
The Eswatini National Youth Council continues to support youth-focused programmes that promote entrepreneurship, leadership development and skills enhancement. Through such initiatives, the council aims to ensure that young people are equipped to become active participants in Eswatini’s development journey.
The Ngwempisi capacity-building workshop is expected to provide an inspiring learning environment where young people will gain valuable skills, exchange ideas and strengthen their ability to pursue sustainable opportunities.
