Egypt, Jordan FMs discuss Sinai bus crash, facilitation for Jordanian victims

Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty held a phone call on Wednesday September 2,2026 with Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign and Expatriates Affairs Minister Ayman Safadi to convey the sincere condolences of the Egyptian government and people to Jordan over a passenger bus crash that occurred earlier in the day on the Dahab-Nuweiba road in South Sinai, leaving several people dead and injured.

He affirmed that the relevant Egyptian authorities were providing all necessary assistance to care for the injured and complete arrangements for transferring the bodies of the Jordanian victims to Jordan.

For his part, Safadi conveyed his sincere condolences to Egypt, its government and people, and to the families of the Egyptian victims.

He also expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Egyptian government for its solidarity and cooperation during the difficult circumstances, as well as for the assistance provided in following up on the condition of the injured and transferring the victims’ bodies.
