A young mother in Pursat province welcomed triplet boys this week, receiving timely financial support and essential provisions from Cambodia’s senior leadership.
Sun Sreynit, 19, gave birth to the healthy trio at Pursat Provincial Hospital on Tuesday.
Yesterday, Prime Minister’s Cabinet Office deputy chief Seng Teang visited the mother and newborns to deliver 10 million riel (about $2,500) alongside provisions including 50 kilogrammes of rice, milk, sugar, sarongs and krama scarves.
The donation was provided by Senate President Hun Sen, Bun Rany, Prime Minister Hun Manet and First Lady Pich Chanmony to help ease the financial responsibilities of multiple births.
The family became the 442nd beneficiary of a national humanitarian programme established in 1999 to assist parents of triplets and quadruplets.
During the hospital visit, Seng Teang conveyed warm congratulations and well-wishes from the nation’s leaders, underscoring their enduring dedication to supporting vulnerable families across Cambodia.
