Cambodia will not trade its territorial integrity for peace and will continue to protest any violations of its sovereignty by neighbouring countries while pursuing peaceful solutions to border issues, Information Minister Neth Pheaktra said.
Pheaktra, who heads the Royal Government working group for Kratie province, made the remarks during a meeting to review the activities and results of the provincial Royal Government working groups in the third quarter of 2026 and discuss future work directions.
He stressed that Cambodia remained firmly committed to protecting its sovereignty and territorial integrity while resolving border disputes through diplomatic engagement, legal mechanisms and information efforts.
Referring to commitments made by Prime Minister Hun Manet and Senate President Hun Sen, Pheaktra said Cambodia would continue to defend its national territory and uphold its rights in accordance with international law.
He outlined four key approaches adopted by the Royal Government in responding to Thailand’s actions along the border: military, diplomatic, legal and information measures.
He emphasised that Cambodia would continue to use diplomatic and legal channels to address border issues while maintaining its firm position on protecting national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
