Foreign ministers from Cambodia and Vietnam reviewed bilateral cooperation and preparations for upcoming subregional summits during talks on the sidelines of a regional forum in Beijing on Wednesday.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister Prak Sokhonn held a pull-aside meeting with Vietnamese Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung during the 11th Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Foreign Ministers’ Meeting.
He praised the recent official visit to Cambodia by Vietnamese Prime Minister Le Minh Hung, noting that continued high-level exchanges demonstrate the enduring partnership between the neighboring nations.
The discussions focused on preparations for the 11th Ayeyawady-Chao Phraya-Mekong Economic Cooperation Strategy Summit and the 12th Cambodia-Laos-Myanmar-Vietnam Summit, both set for Hanoi in late November.
Sokhonn also provided a briefing on recent developments along the Cambodia-Thailand border, while both ministers reiterated their resolve to strengthen sub-regional economic and diplomatic frameworks. AKP
