The Phnom Penh Municipal Court has issued a detention order for five drug suspects to be imprisoned after the Phnom Penh Police raided and arrested them at a condominium in Phnom Penh.
The raid took place last week at the Sky Tree Condominium Building, Bak Touk village, Toul Sangke 1 commune, Russey Keo district.
A report from the Phnom Penh Anti-Drug Crime Office stated that after citizens reported cases of violence and drug use, Lieutenant General Chuon Narin, Deputy Commissioner-General of the National Police and Commissioner of Phnom Penh Police and Deputy Commissioner in Charge of Narcotics, in coordination with the court’s prosecutor, ordered the raid.
The five individuals were involved in drug possession, drug use, and facilitating drug use.
During the raid, police seized evidence comprising six packets of white powder and drug paraphernalia.
After several days of questioning, the court issued a detention order for the five defendants on Monday.
