Antioch man in stable condition after shooting

A man found shot in the arm in Antioch on Thursday was in stable condition at a hospital, police said.

According to an Antioch Police Department news release, the victim is a 21-year-old man whom officers did not identify. Police said they responded to a reported shooting about 4 p.m. Thursday in the 2000 block of Crater Peak Way and found the man who’d been shot at least once in the arm.

Police said they were canvassing the area and had not identified a suspect.

“Based on the initial investigation, it appears to be an isolated incident,” the news release said.

However, the shooting comes on the heels of another in Antioch this week that left a woman in critical condition.

That shooting happened at about 8:50 p.m. on Tuesday in the 3900 block of Delta Fair Boulevard. Responding officers found a 31-year-old woman with at least one gunshot wound, and she was taken by ambulance to a hospital.

Police released few details but said the incident is likely isolated as well.
