Cambodia reaffirms support for UN Resident Coordinator System

Cambodia has reaffirmed its longstanding partnership with the United Nations (UN) and its commitment to peace and sustainable development.

Keo Chhea, Cambodia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, made the reaffirmation while addressing the Asia and Pacific session of the Annual Resident Coordinator Global Meeting in New York on Thursday.

Ambassador Chhea highlighted the UN Country Team’s important role, under the leadership of the UN Resident Coordinator in Cambodia, in supporting the country’s national development priorities.

These priorities include graduation from least developed country (LDC) status, climate action and implementing projects to promote sustainable development.

He also called for continued investment in the UN Resident Coordinator system to ensure a more coherent, responsive and effective UN development system. AKP
