Historic Warwick Neck Lighthouse slated for auction

WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) — The Warwick Neck Lighthouse will soon be up for auction, 12 News has learned.

The General Services Administration recently listed the historic lighthouse property online.

The lighthouse itself, which was built in 1827, stands 51 feet tall and is capped with a standard cast iron lantern that houses a modern beacon.

The 1.3-acre property also includes a single-family residence that was constructed in 1932. The residence itself features three bedrooms, as well as a basement, detached garage and storage shed.

The online listing notes that the lighthouse was automated in 1985 and is among the state’s active aids to navigation, more commonly known as AtoNs.

The exact date and time of the online auction has not been announced yet.
