The drivers of two Mercedes-Benz motorcars involved in a deadly three-vehicle collision that claimed the lives of four teenagers in Ocho Rios, St Ann on Saturday have surrendered to police.

The drivers, both males aged 22- and 24-years-old, turned themselves in to the Ocho Rios police station in the presence of their attorneys on Monday.

The crash occurred along DaCosta Drive at about 2:30 am. It’s reported that the drivers removed their licence plates and fled the crash scene.

The deceased have been identified as 17-year-old Shantana Leonard, 16-year-old Kenneil Lyle, 16-year-old Marcodine Maxwell and 15-year-old Rajani Abdul, all of St Ann addresses.

Reports are, the two black Benz motorcars were travelling in a westerly direction along Dacosta Drive.

One of the vehicles attempted to overtake the other, and in doing so, ventured into the path of a Toyota Vitz motorcar travelling in the opposite direction.

The Toyota Vitz was driven by Shantana Leonard, with the three boys as passengers.

One of the Benz crashed into the left side of the Toyota Vitz, forcing it into the right lane, where it collided with the other Benz.

The occupants of the Toyota Vitz were taken to hospital, where all four succumbed to their injuries.
