The Republican Party has gone downhill morally under President Donald Trump. The disgraceful political ad from GOP gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy using Amy Acton’s estranged mother to demean her would have been unthinkable before Trump. To pile on, Trump and JD Vance, Trump’s vice president, still promote the lies represented in the ad, despite the ad having been discredited.

This reminds me of the despicable stories started by Trump and Vance in 2024 about Haitians in Springfield, Ohio, eating neighbors’ pets. Even when proven a falsehood, they hewed to that political argument, anyway, which resulted in dangerous upheaval in Springfield. But it seems Trump and Vance do not care about hurting people. Please vote Democratic down the ticket to rid us of this insanity.
