Why a loyal cleveland.com reader says the Amy Acton endorsement was a profound journalistic failure

As a longtime reader of The Plain Dealer and cleveland.com, I’ve seen articles shift gradually towards one side of the political arena, but last Sunday you went too far when you decided it was time to back Amy Acton (“We cannot remain silent: Amy Acton for governor,” Oct. 25).

It’s truly a shame when a media outlet chooses to share personal opinions and political biases rather than focus on reporting facts. During an important political season, the public deserves accurate, fair and balanced information – not commentary presented in a way that may influence readers instead of informing them.
