Phnom Penh Police Commissioner Lieutenant General Chuon Narin has ordered the driver of a Range Rover involved in a fatal hit-and-run to surrender immediately.
The incident occurred on Tuesday in Chroy Changvar district when the vehicle, bearing the custom licence plate “JJ.CHING”, collided with a motorcycle, killing the rider instantly. The driver fled the scene and attempted to dispose of the personalised licence plate.
The Range Rover is registered to online cosmetics personality Sao LyChhing, who acknowledged vehicle ownership on social media without disclosing who was driving.
“The owner involved in causing harm to others must come forward immediately without seeking intervention,” Narin said, adding that traffic police had impounded the vehicles and launched an investigation. “My force is following up, and I will never remain silent about any crime.”
