Cambodian Ambassador to South Korea Khuon Phon Rattanak met with Dongguk University President Yun Jae-woong to strengthen educational ties and explore cooperation between Cambodia and the institution.
The meeting took place on Tuesday in Seoul, with both sides discussing opportunities to deepen their partnership, particularly in education and initiatives that could benefit Cambodian communities.
During the meeting, Ambassador Rattanak commended the outcomes of the university visit to Cambodia in September, particularly it’s signing of a memorandum of understanding with Cambodia’s National Road Safety Committee.
The agreement focuses on providing road safety education for children and developing an environmentally friendly traffic safety park incorporating artificial intelligence (AI) technology.
The Ambassador highlighted the importance of the initiative in raising road safety awareness among children and contributing to efforts to reduce traffic accidents in Cambodia.
In response, Yun outlined the university’s commitment to expanding cooperation with countries across Southeast Asia, particularly Cambodia. As a Buddhist higher education institution, the university is seeking to strengthen regional partnerships and create opportunities for further academic and practical collaboration.
Yun also expressed hope that there will be many more new cooperation projects with Cambodia in the future.
