Growing disillusionment appears to be setting in among sections of Jana Sena Party workers, who fear that their loyalty and years of hard work may not translate into political opportunities.
“Everything within party is left only for leaders like Nadendla Manohar, Hari Prasad in the matters of local body elections, and what chance do we have?” a party worker lamented, reflecting the growing anxiety among grassroots cadres.
However, Pawan Kalyan has been gelling only with Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, raising questions among Jana Sena loyalists about their leader’s priorities and the party’s independent political identity.
The worker also questioned the prospects of securing MLA tickets in the future. As long as the alliance with the Telugu Desam Party continues, he fears that TDP’s influence could determine candidate selection, leaving committed Jana Sena workers sidelined.
The induction of TDP leaders into Jana Sena and their subsequent nomination as candidates in the last 2024 election has only deepened this resentment.
“Pawan Kalyan may believe we won wherever we contested, but Chandrababu Naidu may attribute those victories to his choice of candidates rather than Jana Sena’s strength,” the worker observed.
For many grassroots cadres, the concern is no longer merely electoral victory, but whether their loyalty will ever earn them recognition, representation and a meaningful political future.
“The only dream we have is that Jana Sena contests the 2029 elections independently, without any alliance. However, that seems far-fetched at the moment,” he concluded.
