Man connected to death of Yorktown football star Christopher Wilson Jr.

MUNCIE — Muncie Police have connected a man to the killing of 17-year-old Christopher Wilson Jr., the Yorktown football star found shot to death inside a vehicle last month.

The department said detectives completed a probable cause affidavit Friday for 40-year-old Dairus E. Thompson II on a charge of aiding, inducing, or causing murder.

Thompson is currently jailed in Delaware County on a separate, unrelated case.

Police call the affidavit “one milestone” in what remains an active, ongoing investigation. No formal charges have been filed by a prosecutor.

Wilson was found shot multiple times inside a vehicle in the 1400 block of East Cromer Avenue around 3 a.m. on Oct. 5. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Yorktown High School junior had committed to play football at West Virginia in June.
