This will take place during the city council meeting Thursday night.

RIO RANCHO, N.M. — Rio Rancho Mayor Paul Wymer will give his first ‘State of the City’ report during Thursday night’s city council meeting.

Voters elected Wymer in April’s runoff election with 63% of the vote. He defeated Alexandria Piland, a former teacher, after neither candidate reached 50% of the vote in the general election the month before.

After Wymer won and was sworn in back in May, David Mann was sworn in to fill his city council seat.

Wymer will speak to Mann and other city councilors Thursday night. He ran on a position of continuing the work of Gregg Hull, who ran for governor instead of reelection.

The meeting will get underway at 6 p.m. It will also be livestreamed on the City of Rio Rancho’s YouTube page.
