Cambodia prepares to host 50th Southeast Asian and Japanese youth exchange programme in early 2027

The 50th Ship for Southeast Asian and Japanese Youth Programme (SSEAYP) vessel is scheduled to dock in Preah Sihanouk province from January 14 to 16, 2027, as part of a month-long regional youth exchange voyage.

To ensure seamless preparations for hosting the international event, Director General of Youth at the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport Sroy Socheath led a delegation on Tuesday to consult with Labour and Vocational Training Minister Heng Sour.

During the meeting, Minister Sour congratulated the delegation and expressed immense pride in Cambodia’s role as host to one of the region’s premier youth exchange initiatives.

He highlighted the event as a valuable platform to showcase Cambodia’s national progress to delegates from across ASEAN member states.

The Minister expressed confidence that the programme will run smoothly and achieve complete success for the nation.

The 50th SSEAYP will span 34 days, running from January 3 to February 5, 2027. Following its port call in Preah Sihanoukville, the ship will continue its journey to Malaysia and the Philippines before concluding in Japan. A total of 21 carefully selected Cambodian youth delegates will participate in the landmark edition. AKP
