The Kandal Provincial Court has detained the owner of a private clinic in Kien Svay district in connection with an alleged assault on his 20-year-old girlfriend.

According to a spokesperson for the Kandal Provincial Court on October 16, Chea Rachana was arrested on October 5 following a violent incident on October 3 in Tuol Krabao village, Kakir commune, Kien Svay district, Kandal province.

Rachana is accused of assaulting his girlfriend, Khim Sorya, a hospital worker, in an incident allegedly triggered by jealousy.

He has been charged with intentional violence under Article 217 of the Criminal Code.
