ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – A freeze warning covers much of New Mexico Friday night as temperatures fall into the 30s and 20s across most of the state.
Southern New Mexico still has some gusty winds, but those winds will decrease Friday night. Skies will stay mainly clear overnight.
Albuquerque could get close to the freezing mark near sunrise. Expect a cool night statewide before a sunnier and milder weekend day.
Saturday will bring sunny to mostly sunny skies with fairly light winds. Highs will reach the 60s around Albuquerque, and dry weather will continue across the state.
Saturday night will not be as cold, but some parts of northern and northeastern New Mexico could still fall below freezing.
Sunday outlook
Most of the state will stay dry Sunday with sunshine. High clouds will increase across western New Mexico, and that area has a small chance for an afternoon shower.
A few showers could move into mainly western New Mexico on Monday. A tropical moisture in the Pacific could improve rain chances next week.
The best chance for rain could arrive late Tuesday, Wednesday and especially Thursday. Some rain could continue into Friday, and temperatures next week will be a little warmer than they are now.
